There is no ticket for Trolltunga itself. What you pay for is the car park, the private road up to Skjeggedal, and the buses that save you a long walk on tarmac. The prices change most years, and older pages around the web still quote 2023 figures.

Everything below comes from the 2026 parking page and shuttle page on trolltunga.com, checked on 28 October 2026. Where trolltunga.com contradicts itself, we say so.

The quick answer

In 2026, P1 Tyssedal cost NOK 330 a day, P2 Skjeggedal NOK 550 a day (road toll included), and P3 Mågelitopp NOK 600 plus the NOK 220 toll. The P2 to P3 Road Bus cost NOK 150 up and NOK 100 down. The Odda shuttle cost about NOK 400 return to P2. Dates and fares for 2027 have not been published yet.

How much does parking at Trolltunga cost in 2026?

NOK 330 a day at P1 Tyssedal, NOK 550 a day at P2 Skjeggedal including the road toll, and NOK 600 at P3 Mågelitopp plus a NOK 220 toll.

P1 and P2 are open all year with no pre-booking. P3 is a different animal: 30 spaces, a seasonal permit, and in July and August you cannot just turn up. Motorcycles pay half at P2 and are not allowed at P3, where the height limit is 2 m. Buses, camper vans and minivans may not drive the road to P2 at all. The length limit is 5.2 m, so bigger vehicles park at P1 and take the shuttle.

One rule people miss: no overnight sleeping, camping, barbecues or open fires at P1, and no camping at any of the car parks. If you plan to sleep on the mountain, you walk up and pitch at a marked tent site.

What is the Trolltunga road toll and drop-off fee?

NOK 220 to drive up and drop passengers at P2, according to the 2026 parking page. The P2 parking price already includes the toll.

Skjeggedalsvegen is a private toll road. If you park at P2, the toll is inside the NOK 550. If someone drives you up and leaves, they pay the drop-off toll. The 2026 parking page says NOK 220. The trolltunga.com FAQ still says NOK 200, paid at the machine at P2, and adds that this applies to AutoPASS and rental cars too. Budget for NOK 220.

P3 is where the toll catches people. The NOK 600 permit does not include it, which makes a day at Mågelitopp NOK 820 per car. And you cannot drive up to P3 just to drop someone off. Only shuttle buses and permit holders use that road.

How does the P2 to P3 shuttle work, and what does it cost?

The Trolltunga-Road Bus shuttles up the 4.3 km road from Skjeggedal to Mågelitopp: NOK 150 up and NOK 100 down for adults, NOK 50 each way for children aged 4 to 12.

The Road Bus ran from 8 June to 27 September 2026, weather permitting. It does not run to a fixed timetable. Buses go continuously inside each window, so you just queue. You can pre-book the morning ride up. The ride down is drop-in only, and the ticket is sold at the P2 office, not at P3.

It saves you 1 to 1.5 hours each way and about 400 m of climbing on tarmac. Take it. The road section is the dullest part of the day, and the 19:00 last bus is a useful deadline for a slow group.

How much is the shuttle from Odda to Trolltunga?

About NOK 400 return from Odda to P2, or NOK 200 one way. From P1 Tyssedal to P2 it is NOK 300 return or NOK 150 one way.

Two companies, Odda Buss and Odda Taxi, ran the Odda shuttle from 15 May to 27 September 2026, with most routes from 22 May and two only from 20 June to 17 August. The first bus left Trolltunga Camping at 05:45 and the ride to P2 takes about 30 minutes. Afternoon returns from P2 ran from 13:15 to 19:15 depending on the route.

Read the small print. Trolltunga.com calls these prices estimated and says they can vary through the season. A return ticket only works with the same company both ways. Odda Buss may cancel departures with no bookings, so book online rather than hoping for a seat on board. Dogs cost NOK 50 on Odda Buss and ride free with Odda Taxi.

What is the cheapest way to get to Trolltunga in 2026?

Without a car: the Odda shuttle plus the Road Bus, about NOK 650 per adult. With a car: P2 parking at NOK 550, split between everyone in it.

Here is what each option cost per day in 2026, before food and gear. The car costs are per car, the bus costs per adult. Four people in one car at P2 pay under NOK 140 each and can still take the Road Bus. A solo driver pays the full NOK 550, and the P3 permit at NOK 820 only makes sense if you have it booked and value the 4.3 km of saved road both ways.

A guided tour is a different sum. The summer guided hike costs from $183 and includes the Road Bus both ways, but not your trip to the meeting point at P2. You are paying for the guide, not the transport. The guided or self-guided guide weighs that up.

What will Trolltunga parking and shuttles cost in 2027?

Not published yet. On 28 October 2026 the trolltunga.com 2027 panel showed the Odda shuttle from 22 May to 26 September and the P3 and Road Bus dates as "to be announced".

The homepage already carries a 2027 heading: P1 and P2 parking all year, the Odda to P2 shuttle from 22 May to 26 September, and the P2 to P3 shuttle and P3 car park with no date. No 2027 prices are listed. Fares have crept up in recent years, and hardangerfjord.com still quotes older ones (NOK 300 at P1 and NOK 500 at P2), so treat any page without a year on it with suspicion.

One more 2027 variable is the road itself. In 2026 the P3 season could not start until the Skjeggedal road reopened on 8 June, as covered in our road closure post. We will update this table when the 2027 prices appear.
